What is “Bulk Campaign Management”?

Bulk Campaign Management enables you to pull your data in TSV format, so that you can manage your ads directly on Excel. This makes it easier to scale ad creation and management.
When exporting data, you have the option to select the specific campaigns you wish to export as a TSV file. You can also select the specific columns you wish to export with the “Custom Export” feature.

Capabilities

We export all your campaigns in TSV format, therefore all import files must be in TSV format.

With Bulk Campaign Management feature, you can:

  • Edit ads

  • Edit ad sets (limited capability)

  • Edit campaigns (limited capability)

  • Create ads

  • Create ad sets (available soon)

  • Create campaigns (available soon)

Following ad types under marketplace campaigns can be managed via bulk campaign management feature at the moment:

  • Single Image Ad

  • Carousel Ad (may include video)

  • Dynamic Ad (DAT)

  • Single Video Ad

  • Photo Ad

  • Published Post Ad

Campaign export files will not include the un-supported ad types (search ad, collection ad, canvas ad), Reach & Frequency campaigns and Post Boosting campaigns at the current time. You will not be able to import any TSV files which include the un-supported ad types, either.

How to use Bulk Campaign Management

1- In the “Campaign List” page, you’ll see an “Import/Export” icon. Clicking this icon gives you three options:

  • You can select and export the selected ads from the campaign list.

  • You can select the specific columns you wish to export with the “Custom” option.

  • You can import ad sets.

2- If you choose “Selected” option in the dropdown, your selected ads will be downloaded directly in the TSV format. You can use Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets to open TSV files. If you choose “Custom” option, you can select the specific columns you wish to export.

3- Your downloaded TSV file is now ready to edit.

4- You can edit your TSV file in bulk. For instance, if you want pause multiple ads, you can type “Paused” in the “Ad Status” column and drag down to pause multiple ads.

5- If you want to change the image of your ad, you have three options:

Option 1: You can save your locally saved image with the exact name of the existing image in the TSV file. The name with locally saved image file MUST be changed to match the TSV image name. You can then save the image locally. Image Upload details can be found down below.

Option 2: The second option is best if your desired image is hosted elsewhere. You just simply copy and paste the URL in the TSV file. Below is an example of an image hosted on Amazon which look like this in URL form:

Option 3: The third option is used for images hosted on Facebook Image Library. Again, you can simply copy and paste the image hash. You can copy your hash via your Account manager > Asset Library in your Facebook account.

6- To create a new ad you need to copy an existing ad row and paste to desired row. You must delete the copied Ad ID and leave it blank in order for us to understand that a new ad will be created.

7- To delete an ad you need to type “Deleted” in the “Ad Status” row.

8- When you are all done with your TSV changes, you can import your TSV file by clicking “Import > Ads”.

9- When you click “Import > Ads” a modal will open. You can now import your TSV file. Please Note:  We recommend that you to check the “Delete any unassigned creatives under the edited campaigns” box, which means we will create a new ad creative each time you edit your ad. Each time, old creatives become useless and we’ll delete these old creatives.

10- To upload new image(s) to your ad(s) using the TSV file, please click the “Images” tab in the import modal.

11- Please note that Image file name (e.g., “new_ad.jpg”) in TSV file should exactly match the image file name that you are trying to upload.

12- After you click on the “Import” button,, we’ll give you a summary of your import status.

You will see: New ad/ad sets created, Ad/Ad sets there are updated, Errors found (if any) in the TSV with de row number, level and error detail.

Please Note:
If you click “Continue” error(s) shown in the table will be dismissed and if you click “Cancel” you can go back and edit the error(s) in your TSV file.

13- You’ll see a progress bar on the Campaign List page. You can navigate if you don’t want to wait while your file is being uploaded.

14- After it’s all done, you’ll see your summary by clicking “See Results.”

15- You can see the recent changes to your Bulk Campaign Management with its specific icon in the activity log.
